2 Stop Push

Yesterday morning one of my best and his family lost everything in a fire that destroyed their home.

As you can see from the photos above, he is also a firefighter. Below is information on ways you can help if you choose to do so and locations to make any donations you may choose too. Please help in any way you can.

Firefighter Jason Adkins House Fire - First Street

Early Thursday morning March 21, 2013 the Heidelberg VFD responded to a structure fire at the home of one of our own. Firefighter Jason Adkins has been an active member of our department for the past 7 years. Jason and his family experienced a loss of unmeasurable proportion. The most important thing of all is Jason, his wife, father, grandmother, two boys, and two family dogs made it out safe.

The Atkins family is requesting that all monetary donations be sent to the Heidelberg VFD, Attn: Firefighter Adkins Relief Fund. With such a great support network within our department and also our Heidelberg Community the family has received clothing donations that have satisfied what they will need, but with a loss of this proportion the Atkins family has lost all their household goods. Jason asks that if anyone may have appliances, televisions, or other household items that those donations be taken to one of the below fire department drop off locations. Jason’s two young boys are very active and have lost all their sporting goods, so these items would also be requested.

Heidelberg VFD’s motto is Neighbors helping Neighbors since 1909, so we must now reach out and ask that you help a neighbor in his time of need.
